Access to public documents

The right to public documents is a basic right of free and democratic state and one among indicators of the transparency and accountability level towards its citizens, civil society, media, etc.

Free flow of information increases citizens' trust in public institutions as well as broadens communication within institutions itself thus enabling in this way public administration to be more efficient in service provision.

In principle all public documents are accessible to the public. But, as exception, there is some public and personal information that is protected. Whenever assessment or exceptions are determined, that should be done in compliance with the law.
